10 Things I Wish I Knew Ten Years Ago, Especially The Last One

I’ve learned these concepts gradually over the last decade. Together they have helped me live a life of purpose. Had I understood these things 10 years ago, I could have avoided quite a bit of confusion and grief. So today I figured I’d share a few more things I wish I had known sooner. My hope is that they help you hurdle over some of the barriers I stumbled into on the road of life.” – Marc Chernoff, writer.

Life is a journey of lessons where you learn something every day, but you are lucky if knew the following earlier in your life

  1. Don’t lose yourself while loving someone

True love is not sacrificing yourself which people do more often, but it makes you stronger and more confident to stand independent or apart. Time will let you be together when needed but be wise to recognize them. True love leads you to be a better person.

2. Forgive to go ahead

Forgiveness is a feeling of making the mind peaceful & prevent someone’s behavior affecting you harmfully. This may be someone who hurt you or betrayed you before. We should go ahead in our life rather than carrying the pain through out the life. So, forgive as much as you could.

3. May be what you need is what you don’t want

Your life has different plans for you, sometimes your life takes you somewhere you don’t want to be but still it will bring you a great future at the end. We can’t control the events that happen outside your life and influence you. Expect the good since everything happens for a reason.

4. Failures will lead you to the success

Every failure is a lesson because you at least tried and learned through the failures, but the important thing is not to give up. When you keep trying you keep collecting experience and knowledge for your life which will eventually lead you to success. No one will able set barriers for your success.

5. How you overcome situations defines you not what have you done.

People go through good times as well as bad times in their journey of life and that’s how life is. What is remarkable here is that how they face the situations and overcome them through hardships while correcting their mistakes. This improves the strength of the personality and self-confidence of humans. The society will also remember how you faced the hardships but not your success.

6. Live the present and do not let your past spoil your present and the future.

Can you get back to the past although you keep reminding it? No, past is always the past. Remember the life lessons you learned from the past but not the incidents. Re-living again in the past spoils your present since you can’t change what you went through in the past.

7. No matter how far you have gone in the wrong path it’s never too late to become build self-potential

Look at yourself as an independent human. Happiness is not always the consequent goal of your life. There are many other reasons for your existence. Growth comes as opportunities to your life where you need to recognize them, but change is something unavoidable and unpredictable. So be wise and choose correctly.

8. Passion is important

Do what you love not what others force you to do because money can’t buy happiness. Happiness is an attainment for lifetime which you only gain by doing the things you love. Passion for something will give you intensive happiness of doing it.

9. Pain is worth

Life is full of ups and down. To feel true happiness, you should go through torment as well. If so, you will obviously feel what happiness is. Struggling with pain gives you the best achievements in life so you can give yourself appreciations.

10. You deserve what you do

This is very important. Treat others the way you want to be treated by them. Show your humanity to others so that you deserve it too. People do judge your behavior and how you treat them. So make sure to show them love and respect.
